Toronto police have today issued arrest warrants for two young Brazilian footballers who took part in this summer’s Pan American Games.
The two players named are Andrey da Silva Ventura of Botafogo and Lucas Piazon of Reading FC, who is on loan from Chelsea.
The sexual assault reportedly occurred on the morning of the 26th July when Piazon and Ventura met two girls at a nightclub and went to their residence.
According to CTV News, the victim went to sleep and was sexually assaulted by the two men, who left after she woke up.
Following an investigation, Toronto police issued arrest warrants for 22-year-old Andrey Da Silva Ventura and 21-year-old Lucas Domingues Piazon.
Brazil finished 3rd in the football tournament, beating Panama is the 3rd place play-off on the 25th July.
The Toronto Police issued a statement on their website, detailing the public of the arrest warrants.
“The two men have now been identified, and arrest warrants have been issued for
Lucas Domingues Piazon, 21, and Andrey Da Silva Ventura, 22. They are both wanted for:
1. Sexual Assault”.
